Sustainable PFAS Removal for Cleaner, Safer Water
Water Purification Solutions for PFAS Remediation and EPA Compliance
Across the nation and around the world, PFAS has become a universal problem that is affecting the health of millions. With lives at stake and new regulatory guidelines on the horizon, now is the time to develop a sustainable plan for PFAS removal.
At Carbonxt, we’re tackling the PFAS problem with multi-faceted solutions designed to safeguard public health, meet EPA compliance guidelines, and reduce environmental impact.
What Are PFAS?
PFAS, or per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, are man-made chemicals used in a wide variety of consumer and industrial products. They have been found in non-stick cookware, food packaging, clothing, cosmetics, fire-fighting foam, ammunition, lubricants, emulsifiers, cleaning agents, and many more.
Known as “forever chemicals,” PFAS resist breaking down, which means they accumulate and leach into waste water and groundwater supplies over time. They can also accumulate in the bloodstream, causing disruption to the endocrine system that can result in serious health impacts including cancer, thyroid problems, birth defects, and more.
PFAS has been found in drinking water supplies in all 50 states, and nearly every American has PFAS in their blood stream.
Addressing the PFAS Crisis with Sustainable Solutions
We are on a mission to protect homes, communities, and our planet from the devastating impacts of PFAS. As a trusted supplier of activated carbon, Carbonxt helps clients comply with EPA standards and meet sustainability goals with cost-effective, eco-friendly solutions.
Addressing the PFAS Crisis with Sustainable Solutions
New regulations from the EPA stipulate that drinking water must contain a maximum contaminant level (MCL) of 4.0 parts per trillion (ppt) for PFOA and PFOS. For GenX chemicals (PFNA, PFHxS, and HFPO-DA), MCLs are set at 10 ppt. These regulations will be implemented in stages over the next five years, starting with measuring and monitoring PFAS concentrations.
As you prepare to meet these guidelines, Carbonxt works closely with you to implement solutions and troubleshoot problems. We can also help you test carbon products to determine which solution is right for you.
Make an Impact
Protecting our planet is of the highest priority as we seek to build a better world for future generations. With one-of-a-kind technology and sustainable, eco-friendly PFAS solutions, we’re committed to making a difference for the environment and human health.
Chemical | Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL) |
---|---|
PFOA PFOS |
