Carbonxt’s CEM-PAC is a non-halogenated, oxidizing powdered activated carbon (PAC) that is chemically and physically enhanced for in-flight gas phase removal of mercury (Hg). It is specifically engineered for cement plants’ NESHAP and CISWI compliance efforts.
The unique pore structure of CEM-PAC permits the rapid adsorption and removal of mercury from industrial gases at a wide range of temperatures. These physical features in concert with enhanced activity result in a high capacity sorbent for mercury capture.
CEM-PAC is enriched with Carbonxt’s proprietary, non-halogenated additive, providing the necessary oxidation for Hg capture while eliminating the worry of expensive corrosion problems. It has performed equal to or better than brominated PACs in various cement plant configurations. CEM-PAC can be used for mercury capture under both raw mill on and raw mill off applications.
